DIY - Start Each Day Better Organized with Google Calender

These days the short term memory is going south among my buddies. Being the first batch baby boomers, I have similar problem. For instance, where exactly I have parked my car say 15 minutes ago.   I cannot figure it out instantly as I were younger.   I have to think backward before I can remember the approximate location.   I told Julie one way to help us remembering where we parked our car in a busy parking lot is to memorize the details of the park location, e.g. the signs, the numbers, the company name, the exit/entrance name/number,  take a photo with our cellphone camera.   You know what, most of the time when we get out of the car we just do one thing.  And that one thing is dash to the destination and the rest is simply forgotten.   When we have to get back to the car, we notice then and there that we have forgotten to memorize the location.   This is not uncommon among us and a lot of our buddies.

google calendar.jpgTo help myself better organized for the daily activities and schedules, I started using the Google Calendar.  I found myself much better organized since using this method.  Hence, I would like to recommend it to you guys.

I start in the morning brushing my teeth and washing my face as a routine.   After that, I would go to start my desktop computer.   Then I click into my Google Calender by logging in with my email address and password.   I note down what I  need to do for the new day.   Put down the little tasks I would like to do during the different hours of the day such as morning exercises in which community centre.  I also note down other activities such as tea party meeting, walking, singing, blogging, reading, posting in Facebook & Skype (social media), follow up emails to prospect and customers,  etc.   This calendar helps me to remember what to do and do it at what hour and the exact location.  It is cool.

I do schedule the various tasks on the need requirement basis as well.  For example, I need to re-paint the exterior walls of my bungalow say in spring.  I would put a brief reminder in the beginning days of spring.   Similarly I note down things such as window chalking during the fall.  Changes of furnace setting for winter and summer.   Whenever, something of this similar nature, I put it down to my calender.  It helps.

The Google Calender works on different formats:

  • hours, e.g. posting to social media such as Facebook, Skype
  • days, e.g. birthday party, wedding party
  • weeks, e.g. weekly planning, weekly shift
  • years, e.g. annual renewal,

Navigation among the formats are simple and smooth just at the click of the  mouse.  It is not just a calender, it is an excellent time management planner in its true sense for your planning throughout your selected time even years.

With Google's free online calendar, it's easy to keep track of life's important events all in one place.

A Separation - A very good film
