Ladies and Gentlemen,
I have great pleasure of making the first speech as father of the bride Alison. I have been told to keep it short and candid but no jokes.
On behalf of Julie the bride 's mom, myself and groom 's parents Mr. & Mrs Wong I would like to give a warm welcome to all the relatives and friends who have joined us celebrating Sam & Alison's wedding to share the happy moments together. I know that many of you have traveled long distances to be here. Thank you all for coming to help celebrating this very special day. I hope that you all have a wonderful afternoon and delightful evening.
I am the proudest dad in the world
today. You will all agree that Alison looks stunningly beautiful
tonight. You guys would like to know some interesting things about the
little Alison when she was a kid. Her nickname was chicken drumstick
for her baby fat and her favorite food the chicken drumstick. Alison
was beautiful and adorable then even with her baby fat. Julie and I are
always very proud of her. Now she is grown up to become a well
educated, organized, disciplined and responsible lady. Our little girl
becomes a lady. We are delighted that she has found someone who she
loves and cares for so much.
Alison has met Sam her perfect
partner. We have known Sam several years. Both Julie and I think he is
everything one could hope for in a son-in-law Sam is polite,
cheerful, disciplined, and considerate. He also has many other good
qualities, for example his ability to appreciate the finer things in
life. Well, after all, he did marry our daughter didn't he?
Today I am supposed to give advice on the subject of marriage. The only thing I know about marriage is love. Love is life in the world. The world rejoices with love. The One who creates the world is Love. Love is God God is Love.
To make it very simple, Sam just remember this four letters word....
love. Marriage is the meeting of two minds, of two hearts and of two
souls. It is clear that Sam and Alison are a perfect match. Sam &
Alison have our blessings. May they be blessed with happiness that
grows and with love that lasts and a peaceful life together. I wish
them happiness, the fulfillment of all their hopes and dreams for
tomorrow always with love and joy.It is now my pleasure to propose a toast to the happy couple. Please be upstanding and raise your glasses to the bride and groom.
